Pre School Policy

'Little Fledglings' is the name of our governor run pre-school group at Walmore Hill Primary School.

It is led by an experienced teacher with the support of caring and dedicated staff.

Walmore Hill is a small friendly school, set in beautiful surroundings. Our 'Little Fledglings' are made to feel very welcome in the life of the school and are able to participate in a variety of activities within school and outdoors.

The 'Little Fledglings' are integrated fully into Cygnets Class, accessing all of the resources and attractive learning environment alongside our Reception children.

We offer care and education for children aged 3 years and above until school entry, (children can join our pre-school in the term following their third birthday).

Our pre-school is open Monday to Friday 9-3 p.m. term-time only.

We offer full day provision:

  • 9-3 p.m. including lunch,
  • Sessional morning: 9-1 p.m.
  • Sessional afternoon: 12-3 p.m. including lunch.

If you would like to make an enquiry or have any questions please contact our school administrator Jo Stancliffe in the school office (01452 750373, or email

Little Words and Sounds

The resources on this page will help you support your child with saying their sounds and writing their letters.

There are also some useful videos so you can see how they are taught at school and feel confident about supporting their reading at home.
